Physical Therapy for kids provides individual evaluations and treatment interventions to develop strength, flexibility, muscle movements, coordination, posture, balance, and endurance. Each child at The Child Development Center of Colorado Springs is evaluated using a multitude of standardized tests and specific clinical evaluation tools. An individualized treatment plan is developed with long-term and short-term goals.
Your child’s Physical Therapy is aimed at developing the sensory and large motor foundations necessary for mobility and large motor skill development. Physical Therapy also addresses compensation techniques, the use of assistive mobility devices, and environmental adaptations needed for success in daily mobility.
Your physical therapists works closely with families, medical personnel, and other professional involved with your child to achieve the best possible outcomes. We are committed to developing skills that will promote safety, independence, and improve quality of life.
A physical therapist has a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree. Following their education, they must successfully complete a series of clinical internships, pass a National Licensure Examination, and maintain a Colorado state license. They must also receive continuing education throughout their careers.
